Madame Tussauds Blackpool: Doctor Who Experience

Madame Tussauds Blackpool unveiled an out-of-this-world Doctor Who area, featuring an immersive experience and a wax figure replica of the Thirteenth Doctor. Designed to transport visitors into the beloved world of the iconic series, the new area offers interactive elements and plenty of photo opportunities, making it the ultimate destination for Doctor Who fans.

The Experience

The new area draws inspiration from the TV series, which has entertained audiences since 1963. Highlights of the experience include:

• Interactive Forest Adventure: Guests can venture into the forest to search for the Doctor’s sonic screwdriver, immersing themselves in a key element of the Doctor Who universe.
• The TARDIS: Visitors can see and interact with the original TARDIS prop used onscreen in Series 11, a major highlight for fans of the show.
• The Thirteenth Doctor Wax Figure: Created with meticulous attention to detail, the wax figure features a costume designed by Doctor Who costume designer Ray Holman, including the iconic long coat, rainbow t-shirt, striped socks, and braces.

This immersive area brings the magic of Doctor Who to life, combining intricate details with interactive storytelling for an unforgettable visitor experience.

Our Contribution

We were thrilled to collaborate with Sarner on this project to bring the immersive Doctor Who area to life. Our team was responsible for designing and commissioning the bespoke technical systems, including:

• Audio Design: We created an atmospheric soundscape that enhances the experience, immersing visitors in the Doctor’s world.
• Lighting Design: Custom lighting effects were designed to complement the environment, from the glowing TARDIS to the subtle ambiance of the forest.
• Video Systems: We implemented video monitors to display key elements of the story and add depth to the interactive experience.
• Show Control Systems: A seamless integration of all technical elements ensured smooth and synchronised operation across the area.
