Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 5G Gaming Experience

We were excited to collaborate with the iconic gaming franchise Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® to deliver an innovative 5G-powered immersive gaming experience. This project pushed the boundaries of interactive entertainment, combining lighting effects, image projection, spatial audio, and haptic feedback to transport guests into the heart of the action.

The Concept

This unique event showcased the transformative power of 5G technology, creating an immersive environment that seamlessly blended digital and physical elements. Guests were placed in a highly interactive space where gaming events triggered real-world effects for a fully multi-sensory experience.

Our Contribution

Our team played a crucial role in integrating and managing the technical systems that brought this ambitious vision to life. Key contributions included:

• Show Control System: We designed and programmed a robust show control system to synchronise and manage all technical elements, including lighting, projection, haptic feedback, and audio integration, ensuring a cohesive and seamless experience.
• Collaboration on Custom Audio-Triggered App: We worked closely with a specialised team to develop an app that listened for specific in-game sound effects and triggered corresponding real-world effects. For example:
  • Projected Blood on Walls: The app detected audio cues such as gunfire or explosions and activated immersive projections, like blood splatter appearing on the walls, intensifying the realism of the environment.
• Haptic Feedback Integration: Haptic systems were embedded in the guest chairs, simulating physical sensations like explosions, gunfire, and movement, enhancing immersion.
• Immersive ‘Fake’ Lift Experience: We created a simulated lift ride to give guests the illusion of travelling five stories to a penthouse:
  • Haptics, Lighting, and Audio: The lift’s movement was simulated using haptic feedback, synchronised with interactive buttons, lighting effects, and audio cues to create a convincing and immersive experience.

Collaborative Efforts

We worked closely with the team responsible for the custom audio-triggered app, ensuring its seamless integration into the overall show control system. While we did not design the app itself, our collaboration ensured that its functionality was flawlessly incorporated into the experience, amplifying its impact.
